  2. Mr. Zeihan is receiving more radiation at that 14,000 foot elevation. You can get sunburned easy that high. I think it may be easier to build nuclear plants away from population centers too. Emergency plans are required and it is easier to handle emergencies with less people. The land should be less expensive. You will have fewer crazy people protesting the construction, slowing the construction and raising your costs. The local folks may be more appreciative of good jobs to be provided.

It would provide emission free energy for 60 years. California is a whole different place. I worked on Diablo Canyon years back. It provides clean plentiful energy. The Californians wanted to shut it down. They had San Onofre doing the same and made it to big a hassle to fix. Californians are kind of their own worst enemy.
