In the real world the term really comes down to who is using it and what they mean. Mages do belong to an order and are religious.

They are all effectively the same thing. It really depends on the person who is using the term. Mages tend to belong to an order Witches, Wizards and Warlock's do not belong to an order. Mages are also religious in nature. It all really depends on the person using the title.

mojo jojo Wizard means the exact same thing as Sorcerer. Context is important as well and the person describing may have their own meaning or application of the world. Both Sorcerer and Wizard to super natural things that would be described as magic. I think people are applying D&D definitions. A Mage, Magician, Witch, warlock, black arts and so on all mean the same thing.
