  1. The East is not as militarily powerful as people are making out but the problem is that the West is weak in the head but actually has the ability destroy the East in warfare. The problem is that America is only 1 year into a devastatingly bad presidency. We can only hope that Russia and China have longer term goals and are not willing to rush over the horizon anytime soon.

  6.  @Homunculas  Europe has enough of its own gas and oil and coal to produce energy. On goal alone they could produce gas. Europe instead decided to push green energy and here is the thing the green energy movement that riots on the streets is infiltrated by agents from the very countries that are trying to topple the west.

  8. @Fred Jones That was over 30 years ago and they pulled out because they were weak. Russia today is not the same weak place that it was at the end of the 1980s. Russians military force in the 1980s was aging, tired and not committed. Today Russia is staffed by young forces that are hungry and will follow orders no matter what those orders are.

  11. I think there is also a mistake that people make is they assume the East's only agenda is local and regional. The only thing the west has going for it is the fact it has the US military which is more powerful than China and Russia combined.

  12. Nothing wrong with welfare when it is employment insurance, public health insurance and so on. There is plenty wrong with it when it cost 75% of the government budget and there whole estates of welfare queens and slobs sitting around watching Jeremy Kyle before that was considered to offensive for Guardian readers.

  22.  @domzbu  In the period of WW2 both the Axis and Allies have the ability to use chemical warfare that could have been as devastating as nuclear weapons. But neither side actually used them because it could end in mutual destruction. When it comes to missile systems I am not as convinced by Russian capabilities even though they can still do a lot of damage.
