  1. The media is trying to put the idea in peoples heads of extreme weather so that they can convince them of global warming. They are using the weather to push political policy that they know would never get implemented if they cannot drive panic.

  2. If it rained in summer they would be talking about how it is abnormal. And if it was just a plain old summer that was grey they would be trying to convince people that it is an abnormally dry spell. The very people that originally made the presentation to the US congress in the late 1980s for global warming were the very same people 20 years earlier were pushing global cooling.
