  2. There is one option available and the Ukrainians and Russians will not like it and that is for NATO to take the western section of the Ukraine and to form a new state there. And if Russia is foolish enough to attack it they will be the side that starts the war. It maybe the only way to save Ukraine and also to let Russia know that the west is willing to stand its ground. Russia does not have any real presences in that part of Ukraine. After this there may be nothing stopping Putin from pushing troops into the Baltic.
