It takes more than 15 years to set up a military in a culture that never had one. Most of you are clueless and making stupid statements.

@wrongthink3885 I have served in both Afghanistan and Iraq in both assault combat roles and technical roles and the Afghans do not have a culture that would enable them to easily form a coherent military. Now in that period it was the US and British who led that assault and in the last several years Afghan forces were at the front line but still required leadership and know how. No matter how much money is thrown at it time and repetition is the only thing that will create that culture. Afghanistan is a series of tribal groups that have no cultural or economic system to bind them and you cannot just wish that they would succeed in such a short time. 15 years would barely be three generations of cohorts.
