  3. American won easily against the taliban who would not even come out and fight. The US only used a fraction of it capability in Afghanistan.

  4. That might be true up to a point but he may have woken the west up to the danger. He may have overplayed his hand too early. Modern warfare is all about air superiority and the US air force is twice as large as Russia and China combined. While the media and political class in America are repulsed by the idea of fighting the public is not as scared of the idea of defence.

  6. It only works to a point. There are enough dems who could team up with republicans to really start voting on the issue. I think the west is still hoping that Putin has just a limited agenda and does not want to move beyond Ukraine so they are playing soft at the moment.
