The vast majority of artery clogging is caused at a metabolic level. The main driving force behind those metabolic conditions is insulin resistance. It is not meats that cause this but peoples in ability to deal with a high carb diet. People that eat meats and green vegetables tend to have lower fat levels at the cellular level and in blood levels.

That cannot be true because in mediterranean, Japanese and icelandic cultural diets meat is central to their food intake and so are eggs. And they are not facing these types of problems. When they introduce refined foods such as wheat and corn in volume that is where they start to get health reactions. Where this is most evident is hunter gatherer societies that eat meat, eggs and lots of green vegetables that suddenly switch to a diet high in refined foods all of a sudden start to get blocked arteries.

@jean6453 If you know anything about Mediterranean culture you would know that sea food is central to the diet. Guess what Both Iceland and Japan are the same. Does this really need a study for you. if you claim to know the culture you would know this to be part of the culture.

Doctors have seen the same thing in children that eat meat. I think the key is for children not to eat much refined foods that contain wheat, sugar or corn. Eating fish, meat, eggs, nuts, lots and lots of green vegetables and occasional fruit is the key. Small amounts of dairy with occasional wheat will not do that much harm.

Stress is only part of the argument. A diet that is high in wheat and other refined food types tends to have a physiological effect on health even if the person is not stressed.

Those foragers would not be eating vegetables as much in winter but would eat fish, meat and eggs all year round. Societies that do well in health have a tendency to eat both vegetables and meats.

You probably cut out refined foods like wheat and corn based processed foods.

@CRM-114 Ancient human settlements have clear evidence of meat consumption. Even Monkeys will eat meat.

@CRM-114 You can keep making claims about it not being natural to humans but the archeology is very clear on the matter. You may not like that but it is what it is. So stop trying to convince people of untruths.

@CRM-114 I am not arguing that ancient humans only ate meat they most certainly ate vegetation but they also ate meat to include fish, venison and other animals. There is evidence of humans eating meat 50,000 years ago and early hominoids eating meat 2 million years ago. Monkeys and Apes eat meat. Pandas are considered vegetarian but guess what they will still eat meat if they need to but tend not to hunt.
