  1. It would be a sat world if ground based astronomers were allowed to dictate satellite communications systems. There are people out there that would send us into the stone age if they could get away with it.

  6. "visual noise for astronomers" You really have no idea how large space actually is do you. The volume of space that satellites are present in is enormous. You have better odds of winning the lotto than satellites crashing into one other. I am not joking that if you set a boat off from Africa and I set a boat of from south America they would have a better chance of crashing into one other than satellites crashing into one other. The surface area of a satellite at 2000 kilometer altitude is about 800 million square kilometers.

  10.  @yugadeepk5297  Covid happened and the international markets have tightened up and so has the supply chains and market availabilities of components. That is the reason why Tesla and Musk have not pushed ahead with their hyperloop projects which were really only a side project. Right now they are struggling to meet Tesla production due to market conditions. He will have ups and downs and critics like yourself that are not even active in the marketplace. You are a backseat driver or Monday morning quarterback. Did you think everything was all plain sailing for the likes of Jobs and Gates?

  12. There are hundreds of billions of square kilometers that can be used for satellites. You can get back in 200 years time when it may become an issue.

  13. Wireless localized systems can allow fibre to connect the last mile. So getting a fibre point into an area will then allow a wireless system to connect. For those outside the major urban areas Satellite comms really come in handy.

  14. Satellites offer far greater opportunities for communications. Especially when trying to build a solar level civilization. If Elon can get that to succeed he will make trillions that will be invested into space and we may end up seeing a space ferry to the moon.

  15.  @yugadeepk5297  They only have a beta system in place with 2400 Satellites and with 1000 more they will have a fully operational system that can service the vast majority of America, Europe and parts of Asia. Africa will have a large capacity as well. It will most certainly make SpaceX trillions over the next decade. The first several billions of income will be used to make the system more robust. You do understand that they are not fully operation as yet and when Starship is operation it will bring down the cost dramatically and allow a full global operational system.

  24. Governments struggle with potholes in roads not the best system for internet. The market is a better approach.
