The Arab Golden age is a myth. That gets perpetuated over and over. It was a brief period where their culture allowed certain things to be practiced. And it was Brief. It is a very common mistake that people make to state that Algebra for example was invented in the Arab world when it is philosophical study that goes back thousands of years.

Japan has a tradition of craftsmanship and creativity that has been at play after WW2. While the society that certain types of restrictions it still has creativity.

@semperterra3235 Professorship is not a held title it is a term that gets used throughout the world. Just because the British system of awarding professorships exists does not take away the actual concept of a professor.
