  1. Representative government is the only type that works otherwise you are proposing a governance of committee or tyranny. A republic is the most successful type of society ever created by humans. If you want to provide another example of a system that is better please do so.

  2.  @nastynurgle  US industry is integrated with China on an economic level and also a regional level. That would be very hard to displace even if trillions are thrown at it by a foreign power.
