Steel will be part of Nafta. If other countries drop their tariffs on US goods then the US will drop them on their goods. It is fairly simple but I know that communists find all of this hard to follow.

+theylied1776 Right? Either you are uninformed or you are deliberately obstructing the truth. American products already face tariffs entering many of these countries. There are very few American cars in Europe with the exception being Ford but the truth is that they are not American fords but British Fords. The reason for this is that American made cars face massive taxation entering the EU and crazy crazy regulations. Do you think it is acceptable for the current set up and do you think Trump threatening them with Tariffs will allow for proper free trade to take place.

+theylied1776 You are assuming that this is going to go one way. The EU's biggest car market is the US that means all those VW, Mercedes, Audi and BMW will face massive taxes entering the US. German Manufacturing over night could face massive barriers to its trade. The question is why is Trump doing it. The reason is simple these countries already have Tariffs on US goods. Canada currently has tariffs on US steel which will get thrown in with the NAFTA negotiations. NAFTA is a deal that suits Canada. Mexico has a large dependency on US companies which have their manufacturing bases down in Mexico that then ship their products to the US but face no taxes in Reserves any goods being exported from the US to Mexico face tariffs. Current trade deficits the US has with these countries are as follows. Mexico 70 billion, Canada 18 billion and China 370 billion. The US total trade deficit is 800 billion and probably if current trends persist reach a trillion dollars. Germany has far more to lose in all of this.
