ango luis US taking advantage by having troops in Germany? That makes no sense at all. US troops were there because Russia would have invaded Germany if the US was not there. Just as Russia invaded Hungary and Czechoslovakia.

AthenaSaints Cars made in the US face far more regulations than those made outside. That why Japanese and German cars were able to outcompete American cars over the last 25 years. American V8 engines were cheap to produce and were very reliable as they were really strong and had very high tolerances. Very few American cars today are using the V8 engine because regulations have made it very hard to actually produce them. The only cars using them are muscle cars which have increased their price dramatically to produce them. The EU has tariffs on US cars of about 10% while the US has a tariff on EU cars of about 2.5%. If President Trump raises tariffs it could mean the end for German cars in America. Audi, VW, Porsche, Mercedes and BMW could find their sales massively slashed. America also has a glut of cars coming to the market that are now on par with German cars.

Thomas Pick I am assuming you are talking about the 1970s when you talk about the AMC Gremlin. In that era Toyota were not building cars that are better than Ford for reliability and quality. Japanese cars from the 1960s and 70s were not as reliable as they are today. An American Ford from the 1960s was on a par with BMW cars but they were half the price. Buick from the 1960s were on a par with Mercedes cars but were a third of the price of Mercedes cars and they were just as reliable. Germany and Japan left American cars sitting was the 1980s when American cars faced so many regulations that were introduced throughout the 1970s. Japanese started to produce cars that were about a third of the price to produce as American cars. That meant the Japanese all of a sudden could approach their car production with reliability in mind and at the point of sale make them about 25% cheaper to sell. Fiat made lovely cars but were prone to rust as well but it did not mean they were not good cars and were just as good to own as Japanese cars but in the long term they did rust.

Raymond Payette If you claim Germany does not want to do it again why are they taxing US cars at a rate 4 times higher, why are they demanding that NATO protect them but at the same time buying gas of Russia. Why did German not buy gas of the US.

Jojo Chen The reason they are buying American military technology is because it is being sold to them for cheap and the US taxpayers are the ones paying for the technology. The F35 program just cost about 150 billion to the US tax payer. No amount of European purchases will make up that 150 billion. And then on top of that Europe would have no means to protect itself in the air.
