  1. How is it incompetence? People decided to show up on mass. Everybody is in panic so they all decide to travel in at once. Other than governments cancelling flights what were they supposed to do?

  2. Those tests being carried out by many countries are not accurate. The US put a hold on the tests because they may only be 30% accurate. The new tests that have been developed can now be used for both strains and also are much more accurate than before.

  3. Not necessarily. Some experts believe that there could be 10 times more infected than what is being counted. It could be 100 times more. If that is the case the death rate could go down. The real issues seems to be complications but that will also lower with higher infection rates but would still be a high figure.

  6. The UK is shutting down one step at a time. The UK does not have the outbreak levels of Europe at this moment. Complete shut down for the UK might be stupid at this point because people simply may not be prepared.

  7. That maybe correct but it also maybe the case that 100 times more people are infected than tested. So that means the death rate may be lower. At the moment UK calculates it to be about 1% now that may be lower.

  15.  @rabidsamfan  The results will take a few weeks and most of the spread will then be in families and not in the greater population. Average incubation to symptoms is about 5 days.

  16.  @johnpitcairn5959  How are America and Britain slow to respond. They do not have the outbreaks like elsewhere. Both countries are a few behind the likes of Italy.

  17.  @johnpitcairn5959  40 days would be ideal but even at 14 days and those that are infected stay isolated it will burn the virus out.
