  1. The jobs went over sees because they were not innovative enough. China is now a major manufacturer with several other Asian countries.  No amount of tariffs would change this fact. 40 years ago only the Germany, US and Japan could design and make computer electronic chips. Today their are hundreds of regions that can do this.

  2. The welfare state is a big reason for this no doubt.  But so is the high levels of taxation that is destroying jobs. It is a double whammy. There is a culture of violence that perpetuates in these communities.  Now I know children who have been raised in single parent families who have been very successful because the one parent they had actually raised the children properly.

  3. Amber Hasty Your case Amber is not the major reason for a lot of people not getting married. Your case is unique and not easy for anybody to tell you what to do.  Now my advice is that need to start planning for the future and start looking at how you can increase your wealth. Your options if you do not try to increase your wealth is to stay at the mercy of the state.  You are going to need to gain financial independence. This should be your long term goal. Marriage I will be honest by the sounds of it is not your main concern.
