@Spookyhoobster The point is it will not appeal to the everyday user who wants simplistic ideas that really appeal to them. The reason Apple, Google, Facebook, Youtube and Amazon appeal to people is their simplistic nature and everyday value. If brave offered some unique features that people can use such as some sort of photo app it could really grow its user base very rapidly. Maybe something like uploading a jpeg that you can then alter in a simple studio tool to make people look older or younger. I know that sounds goofball but it can be the thing that really drives usage.

He is presenting something technical to an MIT level engineer but in saying that Brave does not offer an obvious set of features that a 75 year old or 16 year old would enjoy or get easily. Now it may be possible that the IP offers something to businesses and it can grow from there.

There just needs to be viable marketplace alternatives to chrome and google search. They do not have to be perfect or pure just viable. The real challenge is getting people away from Google search so that they are not dependent upon it so that they can be more open minded on search. The same needs to also happen with social media so that Facebook, Youtube and so on do not hold the whole market place.

@Spookyhoobster People adapted Chrome because it was offered by google who have a cult following. That foundation following then promote the product to the greater audience. A killer app can create a foundation market that then allows the building of a greater market place.

It ends once people have a different mentality. Diversity is good for customers as it can get businesses competing. Right now as things stand there is too few options and too many people are dependent on what is available. People by and large are not adventurous and they like a certain level of routine so for their to be market alternatives they need to be really simple but offer something that people really need. Now the question is how is that going to be done. Will it be some complex feature set or will it come down to old fashioned human interface.
