What is happening is that people are picking up their ideas from the entertainment side of the media. I was out with some friends several years ago and we started to talk about the American civil war and many of them thought it was all about slavery and when I pointed out that abolition of slavery was a different issue and not connected well there was a freakout. People are being conditioned by entertainment. Most 30 year olds today will be more excited and interested in a superhero from Marvel than they would their own local tax rate. Just think about that.
