  1. If WW3 happens the US will build in excess of 100,000 fighter aircraft, 1000 carriers, millions of aircraft, hundreds of thousands of armoured vehicles. While it is true that a single fighter today has more firepower due to force multiplier effects of technology they still will need to be able to cover a wide theater of war.

  2.  @denniskoppo4259  The US in WW2 had over 100 aircraft carriers in the pacific. When I say 1000 carriers that will be down to the fact that the US has made a 20 fold increase in production output since WW2. Based on Just population levels the US went from 140 million people in 1945 to 320 million today. Modern carriers will be used for helicopters and attack drones and also vertical take off aircraft. It will not all be used for fighter jets. Even C-130s can take off and land from an aircraft carrier. Right now the US has about 20 active aircraft carriers and several in storage. With a 4 year war there will be massive increases in production with automation being used to increase that output as well as an increased population. Right now the US produces 20 commercial scale ships every year and in a war that figure will go through the roof.

  10. The reason why the US is not attacking Russia is because the west never attacks to begin with it always reacts. That is just part of the culture. Russia has several thousand nuclear weapons China at most has about 200 and that is simply not enough to engage in open nuclear exchange with the US. Nuch a weapons stockpile would have no impact on the US in a major war.

  34. @Out There There is a lot of myths about WW2. Germany did not lose the war because of the cold or due to some magical Russian counter offensive. Germany was fighting the war on too many fronts and committed most of its resources to fighting the West. The troops that were in Russia simply did not have good resources to the point that they had no fuel and no air cover. If Germany had of focused on Russia alone it would have wiped the floor with them in about 12 months maximum.

So having a large population does not mean it will translate to battlefield success. The US has the ability to produce a 40 million man professional force for a world war. And that means it will be an industrial backed troop numbers not just numbers on a page.

  40. OUt of the 200,000 that were killed the majority was by terrorist attacks. In the year 2004 there was over 70 terrorist attacks in Iraq with a near complete targeting civilians. That is not actually that surprising considering that the Ba'ath in Iraq killed hundreds of thousands of people before the 2003 invasion.

  49.  @Arsenic71  The US has more than 200 F-22's. Those are the numbers that are admitted to. It has been such an advanced fighter that it rarely gets used and nobody knows its true capabilities other than the air force.

  50. China does not have the ability to take out such communications. Getting a rocket into space is a complex task never mind trying to take out a target that is somewhere in hundreds of millions of square kilometers. The Kessler Syndrome is a sort of tool within science fiction. Good luck trying to fill up trillions of volumes of kilometers of space.
