Russian military is not weak but it is not committed to going in with the gloves off because it will look really bad for Russia if they do that. Even their closest allies would distance themself in that case. Russia has the firepower to flatten the place but are trapped due to their policy of war.

@equalityforever302 Israel did not invade Palestine. What you call Palestinians is really arab transplants that were put in there by imperial power. Israelis' have lived in that region for several thousand years and on several occasions Arabs tried to ethnically cleanse them from the region.

@GreenEarth The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was made up of about 170,000 American troops, 40000 british troops, 1000 Australians and about 200 Polish troops. That means 80% of the troops involved were American and if they wanted to it could have been 100% of the troops being American. Only about 8% of US military power was used in Iraq.

@Out There There is a lot of myths about WW2. Germany did not lose the war because of the cold or due to some magical Russian counter offensive. Germany was fighting the war on too many fronts and committed most of its resources to fighting the West. The troops that were in Russia simply did not have good resources to the point that they had no fuel and no air cover. If Germany had of focused on Russia alone it would have wiped the floor with them in about 12 months maximum.

@hockeyrobber The US gave the Russians 400,000 vehicles, 25000 aircraft, 25000 tanks, 2 million tons of aid, machines for factories and the ability to produce arms in vast quantities.

OUt of the 200,000 that were killed the majority was by terrorist attacks. In the year 2004 there was over 70 terrorist attacks in Iraq with a near complete targeting civilians. That is not actually that surprising considering that the Ba'ath in Iraq killed hundreds of thousands of people before the 2003 invasion.

Now imagine what shape their nuclear warheads are in?

Iraq had a far larger air force and SAM system than Ukraine had. The Iraq military before the invasion stood at over 1 million men.

No he is not. He is making mistakes.

NATO was not involved in Iraq. The coalition as it was known was based on US troops and then open support from some countries. At no real point did the invasion involve NATO or other countries. America could do it alone but wanted it to be seen that other countries supported them.

@Chilam. Just make things up as you go along. Tell us why did the Iraq government not look after those 400,000 children considering the children did not live in the US?

You are full of crap vargas.

What has surprised me is that Russia still has not taken the gloves off and is trying to fight some sort of world police precision war based on Shock and Awe. They have seen their precision war fail and their normal strategy then is to go all out and destroy places.

@Hussain Saad The coalition that helped America with Iraq was not help in the form of troops it was help in the form of public declarations. Nothing else.

@MohammedAli-ur9cl The US won the war in Vietnam and then just decided to get out of there. The comparison is not even a good one to be honest. The US killed over 2.5 million combatants in Vietnam and lost about 20,000 to 50,000 men.
