  1. In the real world that would not sink a carrier and the moment that Submarine opens fire it will get smashed. Carriers are much tougher than people realize and their countermeasures are far more powerful than people realize.

  2. They did not sink a carrier they succeeded in the game that was being played. Too many people are far too naive when it comes to all of this. A single sub carrying out a sneak attack cannot sink a carrier that easily. The moment the sub fires it gives its position away and the ocean would become saturated with anti submarine warfare measures. The Germans had 1200 submarines active in WW2 and not even they could take out the US navy.

  4. There is nothing special about what they have done. A single sub with good discipline and technology could do that but it does not mean it would sink the carrier.

  7. Any discipline submarine could sneak up on a ship and hit it. That does not mean it will sink that ship. In real warfare the ocean would be saturated at the first hint of a submarine.

  8. The modern two engine craft can fly quite easily on a single engine. There would be nothing stopping them from flying the whole distance on a single engine if need be. Now that would not work for the jumbo jet style aircraft out there but it most certainly will work for the majority of fleet sized commercial jets. Those modern single engines are ridiculously powerful but also incredibly resilient.

  9. The 380 is perfect for long haul high volume traffic such as flying from London to sydney. The 747 was always used for that journey.

  10. If you can fool the operator yes but if they spot the tank and decided to target and fire that is it.

  11.  @Einzeilhandery  The target is based on human interpretation. If the human decides to lock onto a cardboard box it will do that and will do the same with a house. It is up to the human and what they aim at. I do not think it is realistic for forces to out there and build dummies to fool a short range system like a Javelin.

  12. A sub can sneak up on a carrier and its group but it would never be able to sink that carrier with just one hit. The moment the sub fires it gives away its stealth and all of a sudden its ability to carry out more attacks.

  14. If the carrier fleet knows that the submarine is in the area they will find it. In a time of real war the carrier group would saturate the area with anti submarine measures.

  18. The invasion of Poland was not considered a world war until later on. Russians invasion of Ukraine could end up being the end of Russian culture that is how significant it could be. Russia has a failing population and this war could put the nail in the coffin for Russia. Its mens hould be making babies with its women not wasting its best years in a war. The Russian economy is going to fail after this war so what does Russia do next.

  24. Iraq was involved in attacking the US and after 911 there simply was no patient in the US to deal with Iraq in any other fashion. It is what it is but do not use that as a means to some how qualify Russia invading Ukraine and will invade other countries as well.

  29. The key to manufacturing on mars is energy not raw materials. So building nuclear reactors on Mars combined with other types of fuel generators would be the way to go. Mars is rich in iron, carbon, Aluminum, Silicon and has oxygen present as well. Which more or less is the building blocks of engineering.

  32.  @Ace1000ks  Many things can block IR but that does not mean they are realistic on a battlefield. Unless the Russians can somehow saturated the whole battle field constantly with an anti IR system there is no smoke that will work. It is a fantasy that people who have no real world combat experience would suggest.
