  1.  @mariadocarmosobreira8323  Cherry-picking? They just made better movies back then. Every year back then had 20 great movies released with one or two being exceptional. You are lucky today to get a good movie every two or three years. Take 1958 for example you had the Vikings, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Defiant Ones, The big country, Vertigo, Gigi, Touch of Evil, Horror of Dracula and I could go on and on with the films of that year. 1959 had Ben-Hur, Some Like it Hot, North by Northwest, Rio Bravo, Anatomy of a Murder, Imitation of Life and so on. 1963 Cleopatra, How the West Was Won, Charade, The Great Escape........... There is no Cherry picking.

  6. TV is now starting to go into decline as well. I cannot think of a TV show in the last 5 years that was good. What we are witnessing is a decline in creativity.

  7. The reason why children are not encouraged to explore is that they are easier to control politically when they have been raised in a strict system. The reason why depression is at an all time high in children is that for most of their life they have been taught that the world is going to end and they have also been confused about the concepts of social norms. There is no women on earth who could do the military training that I have done yet they are all being raised to believe that they can do it and being raised to believe that 30 years of age is young. I once heard a women talking about an other women and saying she was young and single and here is the thing she was 41 years of age. Everything has been turned upside down.

  8. They are being shot on digital, processed on digital and then show on digital and their art style is dreadful as well. A film in the late 1950s looks better than a film today.

  10. There is nothing wrong with the MCU movies they are fun big productions. And those types of big productions have always existed but they are not creative films and you almost know what they are about before you enter the cinema. I remember that we used to go and see films that you would know nothing about before you entered such as Pulp Fiction, unforgiven, usual suspects, LA Confidential, Shawshank Redemption, Goodwill Hunting, Saving Private Ryan, Seven, Silence of the Lambs and so on. Those days are long gone and the last film that blew me away at the cinema was Wolf of Wall Street.

  11. Creativity is in decline and has been so over the last few decades. The 1990s was the period that you could see the decline starting to take shape. You can see it in music, art, film and so on. There are a few sectors were creativity carried on but you are now starting to see those areas being affected such as video games. While things are clearly not at North Korea levels they are still at a low level.

  15. I do not think it is the money because some of their most successful films have been smaller budget films that were creative. If they really wanted money they would just do creative films that cost $5 million and do 10 of them and you will have one or two that make in excess of $150 million. None of this is really about money you really need to look at the politics of the people running the organisations.

  17. Sorry but film years ago was better because society was more creativity. Everything today is mass produced junk. The 1950s produced movies that are still viewed with awe today because they were fantastic. Have you ever seen a movie like Vertigo on a 70mm cinema it is breathtaking to say the least. Star Wars is still a magical film and Indiana Jones is still a thrill ride. The Godfather is still amazing today. TV shows like The Wire and The Shield are still fantastic today.

The lack of resources that you are referring to is an idea called Malthusianism which is what Karl Marx based his ideas on. Even on earth we are nowhere near running out of resources. Earth has 250 billion tons of Iron ore, Several trillion barrels of oil, several trillion cubic feet of natural gas. And I could go on and on about what is available. The film has done a good job of planting the seed in your head.

War of the worlds worked because it was in context of the Nazi era and it was also an accident and was not intended to happen. The UK did a series of shows about 15 years ago on tv and they made them appear like documentaries and people thought they were real. I came in half way through a show and thought it was something that was really happening. The public were outraged at it.

Mother is pure trash of the highest order and people would have walked out of that 40 years ago because it would have been trash. Films from the past still have an effect on people today if they are well made and if they are not well made they will not have an effect. The War of the worlds broadcast caused confusion because people thought it was also an attack from Germans because they only heard have the broadcast and had no context to what was happening. The fact you think this was because people were innocent and stupid shows that you have no context to the period and what was happening. Even other members of the media who came in halfway through the broadcast thought the US was under attack in real time.

  40. The oscars decline started when they awarded Halle berry and Denzel washington both main categories. Denzel is a great actor but that was not his best performance or even close. That was the first really big act of virtue signalling. I remember somebody telling me about Halle Berry performance before I seen the movie and I asked her what was she like and she said well she got her clothing off a lot.

  45. Every year there was about 20 very good movies with one or two exceptional movies being released. And every year there was about 100 films that were well made that would entertain but would not be considered great movies. As it stands right now you are lucky to get an exceptional movie every decade and we are long overdue one. And maybe three or four good movies every decade. The last really good Hollywood movie was Wolf of Wall Street and everything after that was not as good.
