@brianhenry152 Brian you do not seem to understand the point that is being made in the original comment. It is unlikely that Snyder was really fully in charge of the film. There more than likely was a director of editing that changed the whole movie.

@brianhenry152 The whole industry is now run by executives that have no knowledge of films at all as they are not filmmakers. If you think what I said only applies to Snyder then you would be mistaken. The vast majority of modern entertainment is like that with very few exceptions. Some directors have managed to dribble their way around the system to produce good films but you will just as easily find that same director making an absolute dud later on. Now maybe Snyder had complete control of the project but I doubt that to be the case as it is unlikely that he made the project with his own money. What Snyder did with Army of the Dead is just an industry standard film by todays executives. It is identical to the theatre release of Justice League.

I truly never understood what the guy with the cutter was suppose to be doing? He just stood around looking muscular. I suspect the pilot was there to promote lesbian culture or something like that.

Snyder more than likely was not in control of the film. Editing and special effects is were modern films are decided and it is unlikely that he had control of that section of the process. Casting was probably not down to him and he would have nothing to do with the script rewrites.

I suspect that Snyder really had no control of the movie. His name is just attached to the film.

What makes you think Snyder created Army of the Dead or really had any control over the creative process?

What many of you do not seem to understand is that the vast majority of these modern movies are made by corporate executives that feel they have a right to produce ethical films.

Netflix just buy the rights to it they did not make it.

@raulcasarez2150 You think he had full cut on the movie. You are deluding yourself if you believe that to be the case. Modern productions of the big budget varieties are not director led projects. If Snyder made that all by himself he needs to retire.

@raulcasarez2150 It depends on who finances the movie and I am doubtful based on the state of the current industry that he got full cut on the movie.

I think the characters and their individual stories are boring. Baptista character was ok and I could tolerate that. The whole story arc with the smuggler being the good girl and the security officer being the bad buy is boring as hell. The other characters make no sense at all. What on earth was the guy with the cutting machine suppose to be other than muscular?

@theeshyguy The movie industry does not actually work like that. Funding is normally provided by a production company that then dictates the film. $80 million rarely comes without conditions.
