@beckyenglish4783 I seen it on IMAX and it was amazing experience. I think one of the best films in last 5 years (big budget films that is). Just go in with no expectations and watch it.

I do not think there is any real criticisms. It was the perfect movie to watch and I loved it. I think today's world there is this desire to criticize everything. I like you went into with no real expectations and was blown away like I was with Blade Runner 2049. He could have take the story in different directions and tried different things but I happy with that attempt.

The acceptance fight scene was about showing that he could live with their culture.

It cannot be compared to GoT. I would compare it to Lord of The Rings when it first hit the theatres. If that Dune move version was released in 2001 it would have done $800 million. Hopefully this film reaches about $400 million and they will do more of them.

Same here was the best big budget movie I have seen in 5 years. Probably since Blade Runner 2049.

Sometimes a move can be too slow but no way would that apply to Dune.

The character Duncan (Momoa) sacrificed himself for the greater good. A lot was happening so it may have been underwhelming for you that is why it was such a great movie. His death was not cheap and it actually saved the lives of those that he was trying to protect.

Part two will still be Dune.

You are the typical book fan that thinks that everything can be covered in a movie and that the medium can be presented in the same fashion. No movie that has been adapted from a book can be a carbon copy because what is your head does not relate to what can be in a movie.

@gabornemeth288 I do not agree it has to do with effects. Not everything that is in a book is suitable for a movie experience not because it is not important nor not good. It sometimes can distract from the main narrative of a movie. Some books that have been adapted to a movie something completely change the story to make it fit into a 90 minute theatre experience. Typical book fans sometimes think that it can include everything or that sometimes they have a better narrative to cover. When I was younger I used to think the same way in regards to films based on books and later realized it is not that simple. Many movie productions get it really wrong.

@evocatimedia Anybody who has read Dune would realize that it is not a simple single coherent story and would realize that when making a movie you would have to develop a narrative that the movie can communicate. A film only has 90 minutes to 210 minutes to create that story in the context of a film. Let us be realistic a movie is a visual experience and a book is a much deeper descriptive experience. Books can give details that a movie can never do and a movie can present visuals that no book can ever do. Dune 2021 is a perfect movie of the book even the mighty David Lynch found it impossible.
