I am not convinced the house of representatives will vote for it either. What they are talking about now is an investigation which will just be lots of talking for the next year or so with no real actions. What they do not seem to realize at this point is there will be no public interest in the story. People will just zone out as it is so complicated. If Bidden does make it through to the presidential election Trump will just say that it was about Bidden's corrupt actions which will create even more confusion. And Trump will keep talking about fake Russia collusion.

@SCP-5000 The president when speaking to foreign leaders does not need the permission of a judge, law enforcement or the military. The president does not even need the permission of Congress to carry out the role of president. Trump is actually free to talk about any subject that he desires and that even includes nuclear weapons.

The office of the president is free within its power to ask a leader of another country to act. It has nothing to do with an election. No crime at this point has been committed.

@olzt100 The president does not need to direct or need the assistance of the FBI when talking to a foreign leader about crimes that took place in the foreign country. Just as the president can talk to any leader about nuclear weapons. Bidden being a presidential candidate does not act as a blocking measure. The president is free to talk to anybody.

@kit3131 Trump can talk to any world leader about any topic he wants to. He does not need to direct anybody nor does he need to sign orders to do so. He can talk about terrorism, nuclear weapons, oil supplies and corruption. Trump could life the phone right now and talk to Putin about it if he desired or the Chinese. Trump can demand that the CHinese deal with North Korea.

Are you talking about Bidden or Trump. If you are talking about Trump it will need to proven that money exchanged hands. Holding back aid or grants is not a bribe. It may be something else but it is not a bribe.
