  1. No it is not the investors that are the problem. The investors just want 3m to trade with a good business like they have for the last 100 years. Investors are not interested in crazy ideas or short term profits. Many US corporations are trying to break into the Chinese market the problem is that they are so stupid in that they do not realize that they will never be allowed to break the Chinese market. What will happen in the long term is that China will replace these companies with their own homegrown businesses. Many corporations are like a dog after a fake bone.

  3. Not if they defied any laws. If it shown that they put American lives at risk there could be full investigations that could damage the company.

  6.  @edwardk3  At to society? 3M gets protection from being a US company and at the same time is helping countries that are US enemies. They cannot have it both ways. They have a decision to make either they want the US or they want to be under the protection of foreign countries.

  9.  @grada4ever  3M does most of their trade in the US market place. They can have fancy ideas all they want but if they value the external market more than the US market they will get treat accordingly. I am a holder of 3M shares and I do not want them doing crazy stuff I just want them to keep their head down and do what they are suppose to do. I am very close to dumping their shares at this point even at a loss.

  10. It has nothing to do with making money. They are trying to please the Chinese because in their mind that is where the power is at and they want to get into Chinese market place. 3M is going to be the next GE.
