Now what is playing out with Assange is not the same. He is being charged with being part of illegal acts. He may still be innocent so we will need to wait.

When the press during the Nixon scandals did leaks they did so without actually being involved with the people carrying out the stealing/espionage or hacking. The case made it to the supreme court and the press won. This is an entirely different ball game with Assange. Maye he will win in court but who knows at this point. Anybody who does what Assange did is going to come down on the wrong side of the government. It is that simple. People are too quick to run their opinions on this one without further information at this point.

  4. He is not actually be charged for putting the information up on wikileaks. He is being charged for being part of the process of hacking and leaking. Manning and others were charged with this.

  7. Bull? Assange may have been involved in hacking. Have you information to suggest otherwise. People just need to be a little bit more reserved in their opinion on this one. That is not say they cannot question or have opinions.

  8. +Kevin Skeel That is not entirely true so you need to correct yourself. There was always mixed opinion on Fox news about Assange. Some loved him while others loathed him. Remember no other governments in the world had their most secretive and sensitive information leaked on this scale and in an illegal fashion. So was Wikileaks really impartial, was Wikileaks used by other governments or is Wikileaks completely and entire morally justified in their actions. Fox news had no complete opinion about this. They have been all over the place about it as have several other news networks.

  9. +William Kirkoff In WW2 people were executed for what Assange did. He maybe a journalist but he was involved in some shady stuff. Some of his leaks cost the lives of people in various countries. You cannot get around that fact. Now can he actually be charged or found guilty that is the thing. I just do not know.

  10. +Jim X It is not the exact same as the Pentagon Papers. The difference being made here is that everything has already been leaked at this point. In the Pentagon papers they were trying to block news outlets from reporting or publishing the information. The next difference is that Assange is actually being charged with being involved in the process of hacking and espionage. Which is completely different from the Pentagon papers in that the print media was not part of the actual process as they only published the information. People are getting confused about all this.

Fox is not lying about any of this. They are giving you their opinions on this show. There are members of fox who think Assange is a hero. You are asking patriotic people to give a free pass to people they think attacked America.

  14.  @squizzy86  The embarrassing part is that he leaked sensitive information and that never should have been allowed to occur. Every country on earth has this type of information yet it was directly aimed at embarrassing American security.

  15. +Protect Animals Assange is not be charged with the actual leaks. He is being charged with hacking related and espionage related activities. People are being too emotionally wound up about this. Assange may still be innocent but we will need to wait and see.
