  4. There is no liberal vs conservative in America. They are not liberals they are socialists and until we start addressing that issue confusion will still exist. It is no accident that Socialist activists called them self Liberals or progressives. I think you are confused, as is Ben and So am I. If you analyse properly and address them as socialists you will see that there is very little difference between American conservatives and "liberals". They both believe in Life, Liberty and Estate.

May academics welcomed the Nazi's to America in the 1930s before the outbreak of the war to give lectures and guest appearances all because they were National socialists.

And one person said they wanted the rich to pay for it which sounds like a party political statement which is something I would have blurted out in my youth with no understanding.

  10. When you pay taxes you do not think in terms of percentages you think in terms of the exact tax bill. So if you are paying $200,000 per year in taxes and somebody else is paying $8000 per year or maybe no tax at all then you are going to forget about percentages as it will have no meaning to you.

  11. +mjscar The video was an exercise designed so that you could understand the story in real life it would be a case of a person earning $45,000 per year working a 35 hour week and a person earning $100,000 per year working 50 hours. They made the figures nice and round so that people could understand them not for you to actually then try and apply the exact earnings on the real world. When I used to live in the UK I had a relative who worked 15 hours per week part time and then had the rest of her earnings made up with welfare and she used to complain about another relative earning about £40,000 per year who worked 50 hr per week. Tell me you understand this at least.

  19.  @EkinYalvac  Nuclear is not viable for the US or for the world. For the US that has a deep reserve of natural gas and oil it can creates its backbone from hydrocarbons and then use Nuclear and Renewables for redundancy.

  20.  @mattritchie6628  I know exactly what it is. it is filtering and scrubbing the particulates and gaseous forms after thermal processing. When it comes to clean coal plants 100% of the soot can be filtered and about 80% of carbon in gaseous molecular form and there is no reason as to why 90% could not be achieved with todays chemical engineering technologies. To build out the whole power generation system on that would be very expensive hence why it should be used in line with natural gas, nuclear an renewable. There are other options open as well such as using coal to form gases that would be similar to natural gas but that is not needed in the US but could be used in places like the UK or continental europe to help fill in gaps in natural gas supply.

  21.  @mattritchie6628  it does not mean that the coal is clean but the actual technology that generates the energy is clean on out put. Carbon Dioxide can be used for industrial processes including concrete production and other applications. This does not mean the whole system would be based on coal generation as that would be too resource intense but it would have its place. If Germany had of done that 15 years ago they now would not be burning lignite and coal and pumping it straight into the atmosphere.

So that would have meant that he would have seen communists go up against Fascists' and share the same ideology but pretend that they were different from other other. Orwell would have also seen Britain fight against the National Socialists only to introduce the exact same welfare state into the UK through the Labour party socialists pretending they were not socialists. Most of those contractions must have had an impact on him.

  24. I used to work 100 hour weeks it and it annoyed me that there would be people working 35 hour weeks and complaining about how the the rich should be paying more taxation. The exact same people used to complain about there not being a european style health system in America.

  26. Electric cars and renewables are the future but the engineering and technology is simply not there. Governments cannot will it into place with regulations. Companies like Tesla have to be allowed to develop the market place and it takes time. Clean energy really should be the approach.

  33.  @Z0M81ERANGER  Germany was running a welfare state in that era that it had no financial right to be running, starting a war and then somehow blaming people when it could not meet all its obligations and rather than making cuts decided to actually print money. The Treaty of Versailles had absolutely no bearing on the rise of Hitler and it socialist movement. There was a social rise in several other countries as well. I think people want a simple reason they can point to such as the treaty to explain what happened. Spain had a brutal civil war between Fascist socialists and Communists socialists. Italy had the rise of the Fascists and there was turmoil all over europe. Austrain loved it when the Nazi's rolled in until they realized how crazy everything was going to get. I am afraid the culture of Europe was a tinder box and that WW2 was always going to happy no matter what.

  38. +Adam 2766 Why would the Russians who had no naval capability at the time be a threat to the Japanese when the Americans were pounding them into the ground. Can you explain how the Russians offered them a greater threat. The US more or less wiped the Japanese Naval forces out but even that skeleton naval force would have destroyed the Russian Naval force. The Russians actually had no air force threat against the Japanese mainland. Where do you people get your ideas from? They do not tally with history or reality and are very theoretical. There was over 100,000 US men who died in the war with the Japanese and some 200,000 were wounded.
