+Axel A. The 1% owns about half the worlds wealth so I have no idea where you are getting your nonsense from.

+Bryan Laxer You clearly do not understand what is being stated in the narrative. People who earn the same hourly rate can be on different tax rates with the exact same skill set and same opportunities. I had two cousins who were plumbers one worked twice as many hours as the other yet the person on the lower working week used to complain about how the other was earning more or buying this and that. And guess what the government viewed them differently as well making one pay a higher rate of tax. This is just reality. Are you telling me that a person should pay extra tax because of their skill level or work rate please clarify your point.

+Owen Schaffer Most people who are in the top 10% do work harder, longer hours and are more dedicated.

+booger king You sound jealous of the hard working harry. Let me guess you want everybody to have the same level of pay no matter what they do.

+mewimi I used to work 100 hour weeks and had to pay higher taxes than people working 35 hour weeks all because I earned more money. $15*$100=$1500 were as $15*35=$525. Common sense would tell you that people who work more hours on average are going to earn more and hence pay higher taxes. Now if that person working 100 hours per week is on $25 or $30 per hour is going to have a far higher income. A tradesman who works 60 hour weeks is going to be on more money than a person who cleans toilets for 15 hrs per week. Tell me you understand all of this.

The video is not aimed at those with no work or income. It is aimed at those who earn less but work less but some how want harder working people to pay their bills such as healthcare.

When you pay taxes you do not think in terms of percentages you think in terms of the exact tax bill. So if you are paying $200,000 per year in taxes and somebody else is paying $8000 per year or maybe no tax at all then you are going to forget about percentages as it will have no meaning to you.

+mjscar The video was an exercise designed so that you could understand the story in real life it would be a case of a person earning $45,000 per year working a 35 hour week and a person earning $100,000 per year working 50 hours. They made the figures nice and round so that people could understand them not for you to actually then try and apply the exact earnings on the real world. When I used to live in the UK I had a relative who worked 15 hours per week part time and then had the rest of her earnings made up with welfare and she used to complain about another relative earning about £40,000 per year who worked 50 hr per week. Tell me you understand this at least.

I used to work 100 hour weeks it and it annoyed me that there would be people working 35 hour weeks and complaining about how the the rich should be paying more taxation. The exact same people used to complain about there not being a european style health system in America.

+Jake Collier SO what you are saying is that you earn about $6 per hour. What sort of job are you working in. The average hourly rate in America is $21. I find your story hard to believe.

+Jeremiah Sandstrom Your argument makes no sense.
