  2. If we do develop technology that can print body parts workers will not need to worry. Those same workers will probably own their own machines and be making their own components and orders. Once the level of technology is at that sort of printing it will be easy to get a machine to print up a new machine at a very low price.

  3. A specialized part that used to take several months and now takes one month and is at a lower cost is going to be a game changer. Today if you want a motor component you have to get it through a large manufacturing network in the future such a component will be available locally through 3d printing.

  9. In the short term organ regeneration is more promising than 3d printing. When it comes to complex organs like the brain or liver it will require early detection and regeneration. Where 3d printing will have an impact in the short term will be bone production, ears and maybe joints.

  13. People are just using such technology as an excuse to try and introduce socialism. If we have that level of technology it will mean localized manufacturing in small shops that will be owned by the working class and also staffed by the working class. Right now manufacturing has been shipped out of western countries because large corporations have outsourced to safe 5 cent on a manufacturing cost of a product. A future of such 3d printing will mean you can get anything made for your house or lifestyle locally but here is the key thing once the technology gets advanced enough people will be able to print 3d printers.

  14. Intellectual property is the reason why we have the technology in the first place. Companies and capital will not invest if they have no means of ownership. Would you buy a car if you could not own the car?
