  4. The main difference is that they were self induced and were part of a cult. The Dancing Plague was involuntary and happens rapidly. The Meanad were effectively a sex cult.

  5.  @melillo1227  No it was fake and it is something that has been recorded through history. We also see similar things with so called political protests with large clusters of people losing control and even their life.
