  1. The tax plan is not aimed at single people it is aimed at household income. People who live on their own with a cat are going to see very little. The biggest group will be those earning between 90,000 to 100,000 as a household.

  2. At last you have figured it out. The GOP has done this on purpose. Most houses in California are above $500,000 in value so they will not be able to claim deductions so that means more taxes at both the state and federal level for those in California. You are probably one of the very few that has figured this out early most others in California are in for a rude awaken very very soon. So it will be interest to see if they still vote democrat who want higher taxes again. The GOP know California will never vote republican so they are doing this to see if they can clear the state and switch many over to a low california republican tax plan.
