  1. Japan is different. It has automated its economy and is an export market place. There may come a point that Japan starts to rebuild its population without the economic collapse that China faces.

China that just slowly fades out is a better option and maybe they reevaluate their positions and start to do the right thing.

  11. With their population decline their market place will be come very volatile and collapse. The first sign of that volatility China will look to try and expand externally. In the long term they will fail but that will result in WW3 with probably hundreds of millions or billions dead.

That will be a worse outcome for the environment. WW3 will involve nuclear exchange, biological warfare, chemical warfare and so on. It will do untold damage to the global environment. And in that there will be immense human and biosphere suffering.
