@cgarv101 Unions are fine but when they start to have political influence over the democratic right of the population is when they are not fine. Unions should have no ability to set national wages.

The "Robots" are not here yet. They are nothing more at this point than a dream. Automatic that is used in factories still requires human operation. Even Germany with all of its automation still uses human labour.

George wood I came from a brutally poor family and lived in social housing. I struggled to get a job as a teen and when I did get one it was for $0.5 per hour back in the late 1980s. Even back then it was a small amount of money but it was far better than having nothing. I cleaned toilets every day for that money and was glad of it. There was no minimum wage back then. If I was starting out today from the same position I would not have got that job because minimum wage would have blocked me from entering the workforce. Rich middle class liberals do not care about this issue and will try to sound like they care. Their children will not be cleaning toilets.
