There was nothing wrong with her humour. It was strange that Joe did not at least engage with that humour. Joe can be really strange at times.

As a pathologist I cannot give any physiological reasoning for Chiropractors. Most of what they do does not have a basis in medicine but one thing I can say for sure is that many people do get results from it. I suspect that a combination of psychological conditioning with physiological conditioning creates problems such as muscle spasms and degenerative structural problems that can create joint deformities. Chiropractic methods some how create a mental and physical change that alleviates those problems and can set people on the right pathway. I think most modern back issues are coming about due to sitting down all day with very little physical movement. Chiropractors are like Physios or dentists in that they do serve a purpose and can be called doctors in their respective fields.
