A fridge full of food is not prepping.

When people have been to war zones it really opens their eyes to a hard life.

@MCsCreations There are ways to build cheap bunkers if you have access to land. That can protect you against storms and so on.

@quincee3376 But his mocking is not making much sense even Joe called him right at the end on that. He made a few statements on capitalism but then ironic talked about peoples over reliance on central systems. He was a contradiction.

It is part of living in a city focused developed world. In europe most people live in the cities and they tend to be over reliant on the government to run thing. In America about 50% of the population is rural based and more prepared and not waiting around for government action plans. Parts of China are the exact same.

It is his field and he knows those business are going down.

@bluejaysfan965 You just added things on to it. A fridge full of food is not bugging out nor is it some sort of survival strategy. It is a fridge full of food.

Quarantine did not work for New Zealand.

@Feezwa That take away business in many cases will not make up for the loss of evening service.

@mcdabberton4147 People in the UK are in an even worse state. Many cannot even defend their home. During the riots of 2011 the people had try and defend their property with bins, brushes and bits of wood.

That all sounds fancy and decent but when the dirt hits the fan that fancy community idea would go out the window.

The US cares deeply about its population may not about an individual though or a small community.

@xMrjamjam Wiping your self is not a luxury it is an essential bit of hygiene.

You still need to have supplies and knowledge.

No body in Europe preps they are living in a bubble of big government protection. European governments even pay farmers to not farm the land so they can build biodiversity all while they import foods from Africa.

99% of the population could not breach a good bunker or a well defended house.

Most preppers are not doing it for the apocalypses. Most are doing it for localized events like storms, riots, power failures and so on. Look at the snow storms in texas that nobody was expecting. It is only reasonable that a house would have flour, rice, tinned food, extra water and so on.

Definitely not prepping. If the power goes down that meat will spoil. I would assume he would give it away if the power went down.
1
I am afraid that is just hippy nonsense. If a storm is intense enough you are not easily making contact with your tesla loving friend down the street.

Prepping is not about a mad max world it is about dealing with incidents that may last weeks or months when basic things could save lives.
