@thereisnopandemic Classic Fords were luxury cars compared to the cheap bits of plastic crap today.

Me and my wife have a 2003 Mercury that has an amazing V8 luxury engine. Where can we buy a luxury V8 engine today that is as smooth? I bought a V8 F150 recently and it is amazing but there are no cars out there with a V8 anymore.

There are still plenty of cool cars in the 90s but post 2000 they are hot bits of crap.

85 Chevy looks amazing.

Even the 95 trucks are cool.

@tommybasham-oo7qf But you cannot buy a V8 lexus today as far as I am aware. There are no luxury V8 engine cars being produced none at a reasonable price anyway.

@tommybasham-oo7qf I already have an older Lexus from 2007 but I cannot find a modern luxury of any brand that is a V8. They all use turbo V6 engines that are nowhere near as nice for luxury. V6 or straight 6 engines are fantastic for lightweight punchy sports cars but not luxury. There are plenty of great America V8 luxury cars from the past.

The handling on muscle cars were fine. The issue was that some people pushed them beyound their ability to drive. They are not light weight sports cars but in saying that they still only came in at about 2700 pounds with a V8 engine. But in that era people did retrofit the cars with suspensions and their handling was good as any British car such as a mark 2 Jag.

@on2wheels378 Yes you know Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley, Rolls, TVR and so on.

@on2wheels378 My point was not that those British cars were better but that US muscle cars were not that heavy and had handling just as good as British cars that cost 3 times much. An Aston DB5 weighed about 3300 pounds with a straight six engine which was heavier than a Mustang. The Aston would have had slightly better handling but was far more expensive.

Living in the UK I could not afford a nice first car like those guys had. Everything in the 1980s and 90s in the UK was horrible. My father on the other hand had cool austins and fords in the UK in the 1950s and 60s.

A 2007 Toyota will never be cool or most 2007 BMW's either. There is a point were the quality dropped off in car designs and service. There are cool V8 BMW's but they are not cool for the looks but due to the engine and performance. Current V6 BMW's are horrible.

@ThePete1891 I have mid 1990s Tacoma but it looks far better than anything post 2000 from Toyota. I have a 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser and it is amazing off road but horrible to look at. 2008 Mercedes GLS is not a nice looking car. There is no getting around that.

@Themayseffect Any 1960s Ford will look nicer than any modern car. Any brand of American car from that era looks nice than modern cars. Even a simple person who know nothing about cars would understand that after seeing such examples. Cars from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s have far better proportions than modern boxy cars. I am sure you understand all of this but will still try to argue.

80s and even 90s trucks are cool but post 2000s they are not as nice. I have recently bought an f150 which is cool but that is the exception.
