Introducing safety for guns seems like a good idea until you realize that it could be used as a means to stop certain people from owning a gun. There are many country that simply do not allow people the right to protect their own home with a gun. Once that right is gone it is gone and will be very hard to get back again.

You can drive a mini into a wall at 80mph our and that would be no different from doing high speed in other cars. Human decisions are everything.

@matters2842 Only if it is mandatory to take the classes is it regulating ownership. Government could actually regulate itself so that it by nature is pushing for public education on guns rather than force individuals to own guns via lessons.
