  1. Japan has other problems that are not made apparent. People in Japan are squeezed in on top of one other and have very little space. Places to live are tiny and very very expensive. They have a fantastic culture and food tradition and have very high technology industrial output but it is not a better place to live than the US.

  6. Meat is not the reason for the weight or fat gain. You can find societies that eat just as much meat and are not anywhere near US levels of obesity.

  7. In Europe and America there are many snack foods from fruit, nuts, tea and water. It is just an excuse for people not to eat healthy saying there are no choices in America.

  10. If you live in the US you are living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world with one of the highest standards of living. You have a far better chance of making it in America. The average Japanese lives in a tiny one bedroom dwelling and does not have half the chance an American youth has. You can still eat like a Japanese and exercise like a Japanese by living in America and at the same time you can still travel to Japan to experience it. Just to let you know Japanese do not allow foreigners to just arrive in Japan and change their way of life. They are highly protective of their culture meaning their jobs will go to the Japanese.

  12. A lot of this is very flawed and some of it is not. A 300 odd pound man is not normal and is not found previously in nature apart from the last 60 years. My grandfather ate 3 meals a day as did his father and they both lived into their 90s. And I know of countless other people that have as well. A basic 3 meals a day that is not full of artificial fats, sugars and chemical flavours will all keep peoples calories down. And on occasion the odd stint of one meal a day can be very helpful.

  15. Fast food has got nothing to do with the fat increase in western people and that includes Europe. What you eat at home decides what you are going to look like. Genetics also plays a part in the weight gain but it is tandem with people's overall behavior. I bet you if all those fast food places in America disappeared tomorrow it would have little impact on obesity. Eating 5000 calories a day of carbohydrates with very low levels of Fibre, Protein and fat is going to make a person look awful only some genetic freaks would avoid the outcome.
