  1. For centuries Japan had the most advanced naval force. At both the feudal and post feudal level in Asia. The Japanese navy was capable of going toe to toe with the British throughout the 1800s in Asia but would not have been capable outside of Asia.

  6. That 1865 figure that people keep quoting is in relation to Japan industrializing its Navy. Japan was considered to be the first Asian nation to industrialize its navy.

  11.  @let0atreides  When a society goes into population decline it causes a retraction at the economic level. Russia has done nothing to avoid this or to build their economy out. History has shown time again that populations in decline equal economic decline.

  12. Japan is second when it is based on size and technology. UK is second when it is compared in terms of capabilities through culture. In Asian Japan is most certainly the largest and most powerful and that is without argument.

People are confused because they see headline grabbing stories about certain cities in the US and then think that applies to the whole country. 50% of the US population lives in Rural to small town communities and are not in the big cities. The vast majority of US crime is committed in a few concentrated areas that are part of the media focus.
