  2. I think a lot of people are also confused by the term 5nm features and assume that means the whole transistor is 5nm when it is only a small area of the transistor structure that is 5nm. In reality transistors are 100 times larger than their claimed architecture. There is a lot more room at the bottom before Moore's law hits a wall. Architecture such as what you are referring to will become more innovative as time goes on and all that innovation is US centred.

  5. Europe is in a better place in Energy than China. The problem for Europe is that they cannot produce its manufactured products namely Germany at prices seen for the last few decades.

  6. Low end chips that sell for pennies are absolutely horrible quality and consistency. Their architecture is hideous from a manufacturing point of view. The platforms they are embedded within are not much better hence why there is such high product failure rates.

  7. The US does not rely on Taiwan for it its semiconductor industry. Europe simply does not have a semiconductor industry that is anything like the US and its sources are all US based.
