The US is not using QE for government spending. They are using it because the US dollar is in such high demand. The dollar at the currency level is subjected to supply and demand like everything else. Everybody wants the dollar and it puts pressure on the system to have it available when needed. Most of the QE was about feeding reserves rather than about spending.

@CouchDoritos QE is not being used to keep companies afloat. There are easier ways of doing that. It is used primarily to make sure there is enough cash in reserve that can be circulated when there is a demand. It has happened over the years were banks had enough cash on their books but the actual amount available during surge periods was there. US QE is very mild compared to what countries normally do.

@crombee8947 Sources? i would be hear all year trying to present to all the information required for you to proof my point. if you want to learn I can point you in the right direction but it is not an easy path and would require lots of study.
