It would be much cheaper for the US to build its own production from scratch using US technology and US industrial know how. Automation is already having a big impact on US metal processing that is only going to keep growing. There is going to be a bottleneck and pressure point that will force the US market to innovate and to build out.

Yes that is what he is saying. It is the higher quality iron and steel production at a national level that the US imports and processes. The US still produces its own from ground to foundry but it does not dominate the market but that is about to change in the near to medium future as there is going to be a reshoring and build out when US industry cannot access the same volumes.

Cold Rolled steel that is sourced from processed iron and is more expensive and is easier to make make higher quality variants. Who are some of you trying to kid here with your comments?

It is more expensive to produced cold rolled steel but it is easier to process for higher quality steel.

What on earth are you talking about You have just conflated several ideas and rolled them into one.

By hustler you mean hard worker?

Australia has everything it needs to build a manufacturing economy.

But no industry to develop steel. If Australia could get its head out it could really achieve something but will time be on its side.

He is not saying that he is saying it will play its part in certain parts of the US where it is either windy or sunny. The basis of US cheap energy is natural gas.

They are when certain types of products are to be made with the steel.
2
Innovation only occurs when there is a market place which requires geography to take place.

@NAUM1 The US is trade and resource independent.

More than likely the US will be building out its own steel industry from ground to foundry.

@flipper2gv It means the prices being paid by the consumer are not the real market prices. Sort of like when germany lectures the US about military matters but cannot defend it self. Germany boasted about its renewable energy and how it was producing this and that but the reality is not that of the market reality.

And how is the hydrogen produced?
1
It is not happening any time soon.
1
Wind and solar works in parts of the US were it is natural viable. Nuclear is not the answer to everything because most of the raw uranium is from the soviet space.

Good luck with those German/Russian cars.

Do not compare consumer electricity prices with that of electricity price generation. They are two different things. Canada may play its part in all of this as well.
1
It is a luxury product and will not take over the market.

Australia is an Island so it can be transported around the seas and by train. Australia biggest problem is its lack of free market culture.
