  2. +Astro Gremlin Believe? Saddam was the aggressor. He even funded terrorism and gave refuge to the original trade centre terrorist leader. There was no believe in it. Saddam was doing very dodgy things and that made people very nervous considering he had invaded countries before. The US and British were so paranoid that they thought a large order of metal tubes was proof of an enrichment program in Iraq. You cannot even use weapons of mass destruction as a comparison to Versailles. There was near to 20 million dead in WW1 and the west as a whole was determined that Germany would pay for what it had taken. The Alternative was that France, UK and US would destroy Germany at the end of WW1. Germany got of easy with Versaille. The problem was that Britain was an appeaser politically and American was trying to keep its head low by isolationism. Versaille was not the roots of WW2 weakness was.
