  2. The technology is not the issue. The real issue is that a generation of children have been raised that are damaged and their own parents were damaged as well.

  3. If you have not been paying attention to what they were saying you would realize that something serious is happening. Shutdowns never shout have happened but people simple allowed it to happen. There was no political pushback on it at all. The reason why this has occurred is due to the fact most people are not more interested in the virtual than the physicals reality of the world. Look at the power of twitter campaigns on our real world.

  5. No matter what people convince you off human biology still matters. There are certain things humans have that is part of their nature and that is hunger, thirst, love, anger and the genetic code to procreate. Women are still attracted to men and vice versa and humans still have a desire to live well.

  6. Do your self a favor and get a tv. Do not let your child use a smartphone. Once your child is older he will start to figure out how to use the phones smart functions. But a tv and a simple dvd player and use it for your child and control the usage. WIth a smart device you will not be able to control usage. I was raised with TV as were my siblings and we all were raised in the physical world.

  8. But both of those guys are famous for a reason and did not set out to be famous for the sake of it. What they are alluding to is fame without any form of talent. Like wanting to have an NBA type of fame without the ability to play basketball. Or wanting to be famous like Elvis but cannot sing.

  11. It is you that underestimates the engineering and science that is at play. Growth in ai is not contingent on computing power anymore and is now dictated by computational architecture. You are acting as if a person who is on the internet as a child will have some special skill for being on the internet. Jobs was not the only technology designer that restricted his children to designs.

  12.  @Valentyn90A  It was you that started with the vague point and alluded to your self being an engineer as the main qualifying point to the rest of your statement. You said restricting a child until they are 18 of the internet is idiotic so I will assume you mean that the argument being put forward was proposing that internet access would be taken away from those under 18 years of age. If you want to debate technology I can do that but we are starting from your original vague point of assertion.

I had a grand uncle who was a mathematician and engineer and in the 1980s I was listening to a conversation he was having with a professor from a local university and they were talking about what they felt was the end of human civilization as we know it. They were talking about how communications networks were going to be layered into human consciousness. I remember them using the word Oculus at the time and now I understand what they were getting at.

  17. The gird is very centralized. And with renewable it will become even more centralized. Electricity is transmitted through central lines that each sub station then transforms into a level of power that can be used at the home. Until we have decentralized power it will continue that way and what Joe was talking about is that the current centralized network is very fragile. Look at what happened in Texas.

There is now a phenomena were children do not look when crossing the road because they automatically expect the road to behave to their expectations. Thank goodness more cars have ai that watch the road as the drivers are too busy interacting with other ai.

  30. I have raised my children to use technology as a tool rather than as a lifestyle. My daughter has an Iphone but only uses it as a camera and music player. She would use an ipad or laptop for the internet and has no interest in social media and only is on the internet for about an hour a day.
