  2. The difference is humans learn through nature and have a genetic code and molecular system so complex that AI systems are not even yet close. What will really happen with this AI system is its power as a tool to make humans even more capable. It will allow humans to interact with very complex large data sets at human levels of capabilities but with the added large scale logica abilities of computational systems.

  3. The guy making the claims about this system was not an engineer that built or operated the system on an engineering level and was more of a technician. A turing test has levels of complexity built into its filtering that means the AI system would need to be much more capable than today's systems. And there have been even more complex Turing tests proposals.

  4. The system is a little more complex than that. It has weighting on the meaning of human language. That means the system can place importance on various human texts samples such as knowing that cardiac arrest is more importance than stubbing a finger. And to make the system even more powerful it can weight multiple data against multiple data which allows the system to start inferring new meaning and outcome. The real power of these systems will be allowing people to interact with extremely large data sets at a human level of communications.

  5. For AI to be sentient it will require human level brains. So the first true conscious AI will have a human like brain. But long before that is achieved AI systems that are human level capable will allow people to start building systems that go down that road.

  6. It is not simulating consciousness. It is simulating human language through very complex data sets and with human engineered and trained algorithms. The real power of these systems will be allowing people to search for meaning in data at human level of communications.

  8. What you are missing or lack is that the system is a language model that can operate on human levels but it is not an original thinker. The system is a complex neural next that has various complexities that are capable of ordering importance of different human language contexts.
