  19. I grow hundreds of tons of potatoes every year through process farming. I have taken a middle ground by trying to not over do it and by rotating the fields so that some years fields are not used at all.

  21.  @benmikola  You will probably not be able to drill holes in the wall then. What you can do is buy a small set of shelves for your balcony that will allow you to put several pots on so you can grow herbs in them. Also have a looked in sprouted beans that you can grow as well.

  22. Learn to grow potatoes, carrots, green veg and you could also keep a few hens as well if you have the space. I would also suggest you learn to fish as well.

  26. There is more to it than just swineherds. At present nearly 50% of China is desert and their medieval farming methods are not enough to supply 1.2 billion people with trillions of tons of food. China has been trying hard to modernise its agricultural market but the amount of investment required is far beyond the financial ability of their governments. It is just easier and cheaper for them to buy in products from abroad. China is building its grain storage because their economy is going towards hard times.
