Musk would have got SEC clearance or the buy and the brokerage firm that would have been involved in that would also have had to go through such measures. The fact the left wants it to be illegal just shows their desperation. Musk is not going to buy Twitter out as he does not have the resources to do that.

There is that but there is also the issue that releasing such deals can cause crazy problems to the share price. I suspect that this whole deal did not break any regulations as it would have needed to have gone through several layers of bureaucracy. Too many people are making sweeping statements about this with no real details.

@IphigeniaAtAulis I was not clear in what I was saying. My point was more about the media speculating about Musk breaking the law and in may of the cases they were guessing with no details.
