@cybersid "I think it's a tie" I said the same thing. Imposition like making Hindi a mandatory third language. It has not been implemented because of the protests, that's it. Otherwise it would've been implemented. Also, if not for the protests in southern states, Hindi would be a National language today.

@motivationonfire1741 It is easier for Western, Eastern and even North-eastern Indians to learn Hindi compared to Southern Indians, because except for some North-eastern Indians, all non-southern Indians have an Indo-European language as their mother tongue, just like how hard it is for a Northern Indian to learn a Southern language, it is equally hard for a Southern Indian to learn a Northern language like Hindi. I can speak, read and write Hindi. But, most (older) Southern Indians can't, also people who studied in govt schools don't learn Hindi because it isn't taught in govt schools. And, let's not sideline the historical reasons too. Most Northern Indians spoke Hindi even before India was formed, because of the Islamic empires that ruled Northern India for centuries. Hindi is just a slightly Sanskritised version of Urdu. There are atleast a thousand (1000) words in Hindi which have their origin in languages like Persian, Turkic/Central-Asian languages and Arabic. Even in Telangana (which was ruled for nearly 300 years by Muslims) has atleast 30% of the population which can speak Urdu (including Muslims and Telugus). That's why Telangana and Karnataka have the highest percentage of Hindi/Urdu speakers in Southern India. Because other Southern states weren't ruled by Muslims for long, they don't speak Hindi. Don't act like non-Hindi speaking Northern Indians are more patriotic and hence they speak Hindi and Southern Indians aren't patriotic and hence they don't speak Hindi.

@Prem-sy8mt Yeah bro, if we talk about the revenue and influence too, Bollywood beats all other regional film industries. Just because some Telugu or Kannada movies got famous all over India, it doesn't mean Telugu or Kannada film industry has beat Bollywood in influence.

And, regionalists are not only in the south. I've seen many racist comments on Southern Indians by Northern Indians, also they make fun of our languages. @motivationonfire1741 I'm not even a Tamilan. I'm a Telugu from Telangana. You should've recognised it by my name. And, even if Tamils can speak Hindi. Why would they speak it? They'll only speak Hindi with a person who doesn't know Tamil, right? If a Tamil person knows how to speak Hindi, he/she will speak Hindi with a Northerner. The thing is that most Tamils don't know Hindi. Unlike Telugus and Kannadigas, even Tamils who go to private school don't learn Hindi. And, Sanskrit isn't the mother of all languages. It is just the mother of Indo-European languages.

Sanskrit is an Indo-European language, and it's the language which has been a source of complex words for Indo-Aryan languages. It has nothing to do with ALL the world's languages. Sanskrit influenced only Indian languages and also got influenced by only Indian languages. Saying that it's the mother of all languages is just being delusional.
