That means, there is less to grow today compared to 1999 (that's why developed countries and China grow slower compared to us even though they have much less corrupt governments). Even 1999-2004 it was BJP's government. They started the Golden Quadrilateral project, that was the backbone of Indian economic growth from then onwards. Unemployment, Demonitisation, and wrong implementation of GST are the only mistakes of BJP. Khangress has done much more disastrous things. By far the biggest mistakes of Khangress was to have a socialist policy. They're nothing more than Nepotistic crooks. They had let China encircle India, they had the worst foreign policy ever. They are minority appeasers. They made some of our best performing companies flop by their nationalisation policy, Eg: Air India. They made people get addicted to "Sarkari Naukri" which also hampered the innovation in the country. The high unemployment rate today is because of Low-skilled work force, it is because Khangress didn't care about better education and innovation. Till 2014, only one start-up got unicorn status per year, in 2021, 42 start-ups got unicorn status. Khangress didn't care about making India self-sufficient, it used to import all arms. Today the imports of arms is less than what it was in 2010-13, Khangress didn't even care to develop the border with China, if war broke out at anytime, they would obliterate our Army, BJP is developing the border with China from scratch now.

Inflation in last year and this year is bad, because of COVID. But, the average inflation from 2004-2014 is (8.4%), the average inflation from 2014-present is (4.9%).

@tarunmedi Speaking about Golden Quadrilateral, that isn't a small project that could be finished in 5 years. That is very essential for our economy. Don't play with words now. Showing another important aspect of our economy and claiming that this is more important won't make Golden Quadrilateral any less important. If you don't even have roads how will your economy grow?

@tarunmedi SOCIALIST policy, is not bad. But the way it was implemented was worse. You can take Scandinavian countries for example. India had a General Motors factory before independence. Nehru kicked them out of the country. At that time no other country had an Automobile industry in Asia except for Japan. China didn't have, SK didn't have, even Singapore didn't have. He nationalised one of the best companies we had. Air India was seen as a model for Airliners, Singapore took it as a model to build their Airlines, if you want Watch a video done on that by Abhi & Niyu. He nationalised it and failed it.

Although, I've accepted that, they mismanaged Demonitisation and GST. That low growth rate in 2019 is because of that reason only. @tarunmedi When I said Golden Quadrilateral is backbone, it doesn't mean you should compare it to primary sector and tertiary sector. You can't compare infrastructure projects to economic sectors. @tarunmedi My first point on corruption was that Khangress is more corrupt. You mentioned electoral bonds. I said that it's a financial tool to make donations to political parties. Now it is opaque yes. But, govt isn't Selling Public property to industrialists. Even if they do. I need to choose the less corrupt government, everybody knows which one is less corrupt and which one is more.

@tarunmedi BJP recieves the highest donations, true. Donations doesn't mean Corruption. And, getting donations through Electoral bonds don't mean everything is corrupt money. Some of it maybe, that number will be very low. BJP is by far the richest party. Infact, all other political parties combined are not worth as much as BJP. If all of the money going to BJP come from selling public property. Today we would have been on roads protesting. Not only you and me, even hard-core BJP supporters. We may like their nationalistic ideology, but we won't elect them if they are so corrupt. If that money was coming from selling public property, we could see everything clearly changing around us.

Ultimately goods/production are what generate money, also we get construction jobs, if you don't have roads you don't have the capability to transport, then you won't produce things. Go and take some economic classes. Indirectly infrastructure is the most important thing.

@tarunmedi You said economic growth rate declined as soon as BJP came to power. It was lower than 2013 only in 2019 & 2020 (COVID). GDP growth rate was declining since 2011 itself 2010 - 8.5% 2011 - 5.2% 2012 - 5.5% 2013 - 6.4% When BJP took over, there was a rise in growth rate. Only because of mismanagement of GST and Demonitisation it fell. If you look at avg of Congress growth rate from 2009-2013, it is 6.7%. If you do the same from 2014-2018 under BJP it is 7.4%, even include 2019, the avg will be 6.83% (still higher than congress'). So BJP is better. Yes under BJP unemployment is a bigger problem. But, under Congress scams were a big problem.

We already recovered from 2008 financial crisis, and grew at 8.5% in 2010, there was no recession before BJP came into power for taking "base-effect" into this argument.

@tarunmedi Base year effect is a term used for inflation Calculating purposes, the other base-effect is used for the previous reason I gave. GDP is calculated by GVA (Gross value added) terms, it sees how much more goods production and services has increased in the country compared to last year. The Base year effect you claimed is something different, which is not even a thing for calculating GDP of India.
