well written. and well said. the aggressor state it is true must defend against loss. as aggressor the only way to defeat its enemy is to continue to escalate its aggression. in this instance, it appears as if the nationalism limit may have been reached relative to the ends-means sought by the centre. if that is the case (still an if, granted) then the national must appeal to the international - either to clients that owe or as a client. it will become clear who is who unless the centre folds first.
